Mark Mugglestone

Mark is a director and consultant to Web3 businesses. He has been resident in the Cayman Islands for over 11 years where his previous employers have included PwC, Maples Group and Conyers. Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with extensive experience in the offshore financial services industry where he has serviced clients across multiple industry groups from an auditing, accounting, regulatory and fiduciary perspective.

Mark’s involvement in the offshore blockchain space extends back to 2017 where he was seconded to what would later become one of the largest and most recognized organizations in the blockchain industry today. Mark’s initial role included duties around their initial token sale, setting up accounts with crypto exchanges and arranging local banking solutions to facilitate crypto to fiat conversions. The following two years involved designing and implementing accounting protocols to account for the token sale and various transactions (developers, payroll, marketing, legal etc.) that were being settled in ETH, BTC and the newly issued native token retained in treasury. This was achieved at a time when blockchains and token issuances were relatively unknown concepts – especially in the Cayman Islands. Aside from the invaluable experience gained here, Mark has since been involved with various other offshore based token issuers and DeFi projects from both an accounting and fiduciary perspective.

Mark is a seasoned independent director having sat on the boards of various regulated and non-regulated entities, dealt with innumerable sets of transaction stakeholders and navigated through contentious situations. This experience, along with his strong background in accounting and finance will be complimentary to the service offering of Horizons Global.
